Carlson Rezidor announces its 3rd hotel in Mauritius

Park Inn by Radisson Mauritius scheduled to open in 2018

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, has announced their third hotel in Mauritius.

The Park Inn by Radisson Mauritius, which is expected to open in 2018, will offer 182 rooms, 1,358sqm of conference facilities and a gym, wellness spa and beauty salon of over 700sqm. The food and drink facilities include an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby bar, a specialty restaurant and a rooftop bar and terrace.

The hotel will be located in the center of the island in Trianon, Quatre-Bornes, which is 30 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from the capital city of Port Louis, and 5 minutes from Ebene Cyber City – the commercial, banking, financial services and IT hub of the country.

The hotel is being developed in conjunction with Navos Property Development Ltd., a Mauritius based development company.

“We are proud and thrilled to be associated with Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group to develop the first internationally branded hotel in the country. Our infrastructure, facilities and amenities will be developed in a unique manner to offer an exhilarating experience to our guests," said Anand Appanah, Managing Director of Navos Property Development, owner of the Park Inn by Radisson Mauritius.

“We recognized the opportunity to develop a good business hotel in an area of the island that was in need of an international standard business hotel. The demand is there for the services and facilities required to host business travelers and meetings and events. As a result, we’re planning a hotel with larger than normal M&E facilities and additional food and drink offerings," said Andrew McLachlan, Senior Vice President, Business Development, Africa and Indian Ocean. “This hotel strengthens our overall market position in Mauritius – where we operate two Radisson Blu resorts – as we will now offer a business and leisure option to our guests travelling or working in Mauritius.”

The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, which operates 1,400 hotels in more than 115 countries, has established Africa as its key global investment region, due to the continent’s long term economic growth potential, which is forecasted to be amongst the highest in the world.
