The property will open in 2019, and will offer 244 luxury rooms, a signature destination restaurant and cocktail lounge on the 18th floor, extensive meeting and events spaces including a ballroom and a number of other food and drink outlets. The hotel will also feature an Amani Spa and private gym of 900sqm.
“Quorvus Collection is a new generation of expertly curated luxury hotels inspired by the lifestyle and sensibilities of the contemporary global traveler. Individual, iconic and inspiring, each property within the collection offers a distinguished guest experience – an invitation to immerse oneself in the best a location can offer. Quorvus Collection isn’t defined by a style or taste; it’s a spirit, an energy and a character that brings our people and properties together. We call this – EIDOS – distinctive character of a culture,” said Wolfgang M. Neumann, President & CEO of The Rezidor Hotel Group.
The Emerald Grand Hotel & Spa, Lagos is located on the upscale Victoria Island, and prides itself in having Nigeria’s only rooftop helipad with helicopter services within the city of Lagos.
Situated only 200m from the exclusive Palms Malls, Nigeria’s premier shopping mall, the development promises easy access to Lagos and surrounds via the Lekki Express Way.
The hotel owner is Emerald Continental Services Ltd., a subsidiary of ENL Consortium Ltd., who employ over 2,100 employees with interests in road and bridge construction, housing, energy supplies, port terminal operations, minerals, IT and software development.
“The Emerald Grand Hotel & Spa, Lagos is a wonderful opportunity to introduce our stunning luxury Quorvus Collection brand in Africa,’ commented Andrew McLachlan, Senior Vice President, Business Development, Africa & Indian Ocean. “Nigeria is one of our key focus markets in Africa, and our strategy is to establish multiple properties and brands within this rapidly growing market. Lagos was identified as the right city for a Quorvus Collection property because of its potential.”
“Africa is our biggest growth market. In 2016, on an average, we have signed a new hotel every 37 days and open a new hotel every 60 days” said Elie Younes, Rezidor’s Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer. “The group’s total portfolio comprises 69 hotels in 28 countries with almost 15,000 rooms in operation or under development.”
The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, which operates 1,400 hotels in more than 115 countries, has established Africa as its key global investment region, due to the continent’s long term economic growth potential, which is forecasted to be amongst the highest in the world.
