Alexis Sharangabo is a native of Rwanda, and a proud former Rwandan/American Olympian in middle and long distance runs. He graduated from Brevard College (Brevard, North Carolina, U.S.A) with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership, and a concentration in Management. Very recently, in May, 2017, he completed his Masters in Global Business Management from the American Public University System (U.S.A).

His Athletics experience ranges from the collegiate ranks to Olympics and World Championships levels. He competed two times in Olympics Games and in many different World Indoor and Outdoor Championships for his mother land (Rwanda). He holds three Rwandan National Records in middle distance (800 meters, 1500 meters, and 1600 meters).

While running for Brevard College, Alexis Sharangabo was an outstanding six times national champion. He was named the “most valuable athlete” at Brevard College for the year 2000 and 2001. He was also named the athlete of the Year by the United States Track Coach Association (USTCA) after winning the 2000 National Cross Country, and the Outstanding Performer of the year 2001 Track and Field National Championships.

He holds five school records in 1500 meters (3:38.16), Mile (3:57.82), Indoor 3000meters (8:16.86), 5000meters (13:55.24), and Distance Medley Relay (9:46.14).

Currently, Alexis Sharangabo is still active in sports, especially in track & Field. He recently received two certificates of achievement of “Training course for Athletics Coaches (Olympic Solidarity), and Level I “IAAF Certified Course” for coaching.
