Established in 1991, Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) is a state-owned organization with the responsibility of constructing, operating, and managing aerodromes in Kenya; other functions include, providing and maintaining facilities necessary for efficient aircraft operations, providing rescue and fire-fighting equipment and services, and carrying out related activities. KAA is currently responsible for managing a total of 27 airports and airstrips throughout Kenya, including major airports such as Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi, Moi International Airport in Mombasa, Kisumu International Airport in Kisumu, Eldoret International Airport in Eldoret, and Wilson Airport. Their role in providing crucial infrastructure and support for the country's aviation sector has established them as a significant player in the Kenyan aviation industry.
