Chief Commercial Officer, fastjet
A passion for flying has inspired fastjet Chief Commercial Officer Sylvain Bosc to pursue a career in commercial aviation. Since graduating from Europe’s leading business school, the HEC School of Management in Paris, Sylvain has enjoyed tenure at some of the world’s most recognizable airline brands.
Sylvain’s career in aviation was shaped during 13 years in various management positions at Air France KLM that he fulfilled in several markets, including the United States, France, Spain and Japan. In 2010 he was appointed Chief Commercial Officer at Corsair, a TUI Travel subsidiary and France’s second largest carrier at the time. Here he led the transformation of the airline from a charter carrier to a successful scheduled commercial airline brand. Sylvain also managed Corsair’s entry into the African francophone market with successful routes connecting France with Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire.
The lure of Africa drew Sylvain to South African Airways where he was appointed Chief Commercial Officer in 2014, tasked to lead the flag carrier’s design and implementation of its restructuring efforts. Three years later, in 2017, he joined Nico Bezuidenhout, acting CEO at SAA during Sylvain’s tenure and now CEO of fastjet plc, at the pan-African low-cost airline.
As Chief Commercial Officer at fastjet, Sylvain is tasked with designing and implementing the airline’s continental expansion and commercial transformation. He is a globally recognized subject matter expert in commercial aviation with a penchant for Africa and is frequently invited to speak at key industry events around the world.
